Thru-Axle Adapter (WheelHouse)

This adapter is pretty simple, basically a 9mm skewer with a plastic 15mm sleeve and a round 14mm "nut" that can slide through a thru-axle wheel hub. It does exactly what it promises, allowing you to mount a 15mm x 100mm thru-axle wheel to a quick release wheel mount. A fork mounted carrier is still desirable to the pickup folks as it allows additional space in the rear of the bed, so I hope Yakima keeps these in the product line.

I've got a lot invested in racks, mounts, and adapters. It bothered me that I needed to store the front wheels inside my rig, taking space away from the dogs and storage. I bought a couple of these skewers and can finally put all of the bikes and wheels on the outside of the car. They are reasonably priced, especially compared to the $50 15mm thru axle fork adapters that all of the manufacturers are selling.
