      Good, but could be better

I have a Trek Allant 7S. Very hard to load because the ramp and the trays aren't really wide enough. Should let buyer know that doesnt work well with fatter tires. Would be nice if I could buy trays that would fit that are wider.

      Used on RV and Jeep.

Sturdy well made bike rack. We use it for our e-bikes. Wish the ramps were wider has the tires do not fit in correctly. Also would have been nice to get the fat tire straps with the rack as of the back order. I’ve been using a ratchet strap to secure the bikes. Fat straps have been ordered. Also use a hitch extender for the Jeep to clear the rear tire.

The rack is perfect for my Trek Verve + 2 E bike. No more lifting because of the ramp. Its been working great for our local trips around town. Just took our first road trip and I was confident the whole time that my wife's regular bike and my E bike were secure. Again I have had no problems with this rack.

      Move the center bar

Before loading the bikes, move the center stand up bar all the way down to the left. Load the first bike on the track nearest the tailgate. Move the center stand up bar back up to vertical. Secure first bike. After it is secured load second bike. Use this loading sequence, otherwise loading the first bike is a pain getting it around the stand up bar. To unload reverse the sequence.

Rack is great, ramp is silly, not very functional

I have an Aventon Level commuter bike. 62 lbs and commuter, not fat tires. After a few attempts of rolling the bike up the ramp I gave up and just picked it up, old school. The rack barely accommodated the tire width. The rack would not stay in place caused the back wheel to slide off. It might be because the rack points upward just a little, not sure why, my hitch receiver is level, I don't get it.

Great for heavy bikes but could be better

I agree with Big Bad Dad's comments. The left mounted stabilizer makes it a serious hassle to secure bikes in opposing directions and makes it really hard to secure our step throughs. A sliding stabilizer is the answer. AND the photo on the website showing the stabilizer centered on the rack frame is a SERIOUS misrepresentation of the product. An accessory suggestion: Yakima could offer fat tire trays that can accommodate 4" tires that attach to the metal trays using the same screw holes as the stock trays. With these changes Yakima could have a true winner. 5 stars for being able to carry two 60lb bikes. 2 stars for the stabilizer location misrepresentation.

      Beach Cruiser rack

Pros: It was easy to install, it accommodated my heavy and bulky beach cruisers with fenders, the ramp makes it easy to place the heavy big bikes by myself without help, and it's easy to drop when loading things in the back of the suv.
Cons: One of the straps broke after one use and the screw that holds the second bolt also broke off. They seem easy to replace but for the cost of the rack, it was frustrating that everything didn't hold up longer.

Could be better with two changes

Be warned that there is one photo on the Yakima page that is VERY misleading. It appears below and shows the center support pole centered in the rack. But in reality it isn't - it is welded to the very left of the rack. This makes it very difficult to load bikes with the handlebars opposite each other as there isn't enough room to load a bike with the handlebars to the left of the rack. Too bad - if Yakima either welded it in the center position, or better yet, made it adjustable so you could slide it to whichever position works best for your bikes, it would be a true five-star product. The second change would be to the cable lock - you need to use the key to lock it which requires crawling under your vehicle to reach it when the rack is mounted and loaded. If, like Thule, the lock was spring loaded and could be "snapped on" it would be better, though you would still have to crawl under to unlock it. But overall it works great and we like it.

      Nice rack!

Bought this rack to haul two e-bikes. It is solid and rated for even more weight than the two bikes weigh. The bikes ride solidly and with little movement. The ramp works well too. Very happy!

      Super Pleased

We needed a substantial rack that could carry two, 50lb. E-bikes to the trails in the mountains. We are super pleased with this Yakima bike rack. It gives us peace of mind knowing that our bikes are safely being hauled. And, my wife is very pleased she doesn’t even have to help. One person can easily roll the bike up onto the rack and easily secure it. Thank you, Yakima!
