      Felt great about the installation...

      Fell off my car. 2014 honda. Felt great about the installation. It felt very sturdy. Car is garage kept. All seemed well for a few months.

      Then one day the rear one just fell off. Didn't even find out until I parked my car after the 20 minute drive on highways... I feel terrible about who might have been behind me. I was thinking it was a fluke and I was going to buy a replacement but others are posting the same thing. Moreover, it really looks like they are hiding reviews that have less than 5 stars...

      How scary for you and anyone around you that your back tower fell off. We're really sorry to hear that. Although initial installation can be next-to-perfect and proper care be taken by the consumer, products still breakdown. Often times we find that folks aren't tying their kayaks or SUPs at the bow and stern instead to the rack itself. This compromises the integrity of the rack overtime which can cause it to come loose. May or may not be the case for you. Please reach out to our Customer Service department so we can get you taken care of!

      do not gert

      I had these for about a year on my car. They were professionally installed and I was driving down a hill when the front one came off and my windshield and a oncoming car.

      Fell off my vehicle

      Since my last review wasn't posted about the lack of parts, I'll post this one seeing how I was able to find the parts in Canada. I finally got all the correct base clips for my 2016 kia optima, installed everything to the fit guide that is provide by Yakima, low and behold the measurements don't work for setting the base at the right measurements on the bar BECAUSE MY FRONT BAR FELL OFF DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON I5 IN TACOMA!!!! Scratched the hell out of my paint but I was lucky enough that the back bar caught it and I was able to pull over before it fell into traffic and went through someone's windshield. But let's see if this gets posted, probably not because why would a company not want bad reviews? Because they are not a good company, that's why. I will be filing as many complaints with as many consumer rights groups as I can at this point and I will consult a lawyer about getting my paint fixed.

      Perfect Roof Rack!

      We have a 2019 Honda Insight Touring. Yakima as of today's date is the only one that makes a roof rack for our Honda. It took me about an hour to put everything together while watching Friends. In the pictures the cargo box isn't locked into place. I only put it together to make sure it fits perfectly and to show my wife. We can't wait for our first road trip. The cargo box is the SkyBox 18 Carbonite.
      Pros:
      * Easy to assemble
      * Easy to install
      * Instructions are very well written with plenty of diagrams

      Cons:
      * The cost. But you get what you pay for. I can see this roof rack lasting my life time.

      HD bars

      Interested in system with HD bars to match truck bed bars. Sad Yakima does not answer/respond to questions posted here from past reviews.

      Good stuff

      I put Baseline towers with Jetstream 60" on a 2018 Kia Soul electric, cause it didn't come with the mounting holes. So far it's super strong, I've been carrying lumber around for some construction, not sure the weight but probably around the max recommended and no issues. I will say that the fit doesn't look that great if you follow the instructions for my model based on the recommended baseclips (the curve on the rubberized bottom seems different than the corresponding roof surface. So I did some minor adjustments based on the shape of the roof when mounting it. Happy I have nice roof racks. Which the locks were included for the prize.
