      Untrustworthy and Unsafe

      I have had my timberline towers for about 1 year. Both times I have tried to use my yakima rack, the barrel nuts inside at least one of the towers strip out with a loud pop. I install the towers using the yakima supplied torque wrench. This has now ruined multiple trips for me. I cannot trust this product because if one of the nuts were to strip while driving other drivers lives would be put at risk. I do not know how there has not been a recall on these if they are so inconsistent. You can find many reviews of these on amazon and other sites reporting the same problem. Yakima will do the right thing and give me a warranty return, but that doesn’t help when you have a trip tomorrow.
