Q: What are the dimensions of the bracket?
A: The bracket is about 5 ¾ " wide by 13/16 " high. The backing plate is about 5 5/8” by 1-1/2”. 5/16”-18 stainless steel carriage bolts are 1” long.

Q: Which tower do I use?
A: Use with 1A Raingutter or High Rise towers.

Q: Aren’t permanent installations stronger than removable racks?
A: Probably not. In either case, load capacity is limited by the vehicle, rather than the rack. In fact, removable rack options are often stronger because the rack can be positioned closer to the edges of a roof, where it is naturally stronger. To compare load capacity between options, check the Fit List.

Q: Can I use Side Loader's Brackets on my vehicle?
A: Look in the Fit List to see what is recommended for your vehicle. Brackets are for custom installation in areas where we doesn’t have a specific recommendation, such as on camper shells (caps, toppers, whatever they call them in your neighborhood). SideLoaders are not appropriate for production vehicles except where noted in the Fit List. Our line of brackets and tracks can provide solutions for the hundreds of unique ways customers want to mount their rack, but it’s your judgement call to decide if they are appropriate for your purpose. We will likely have ways to carry your gear that doesn’t require a permanent installation.
