CALCULATE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
We bet you never thought math would help save the world.
But don't feel guilty if you zoned out in algebra class. Our
handy calculator will help you figure out whether or not your
carbon footprint looks like tracks made by Bigfoot while
wearing a pair of clown shoes.
We've already provided U.S. average usage in each field.
But if you've got your bills handy, just plug in your own data
to get the most acurate levels. Here are some other nifty
ways to use the calculator.
- Want to offset just one flight? Enter 0 for all the other
numbers and just plug the mileage into the air travel
box.
- Figure out how to offset an event or a conference. If
you don't know exact energy figures, contact
Carbonfund.org and they'll help you estimate them.
- See the difference between individual emissions and
individual zero carbon emissions. Individual
emissions are from stuff like heating your home,
driving and flying. Individual Zero Carbon emissions
takes into account all economic activity to give a
more accurate idea of how much CO2 emission
you're really responsible for. It includes factors like
your job and the things you purchase.
